Dear Pastor,
On Feb. 7 my church, FBC Carmi, is hosting a community event along with a few other churches. We are going to have h'orderves first, then watch Fireproof, and then desserts. (Getting the rights to show this movie was quite an investment - we want to share it with the community.) After the movie, but before desserts, we will have a brief marriage testimony and a time to fill out a response card. No big pressure, but we do want to make sure the gospel is presented!
I was wondering if your church would like to help in sponsoring this event. It can be done in a variety of ways or all ways.
1) Put an announcement in your bulletin each week as a reminder and invitation.
2) Make verbal announcements from the pulpit encouraging your church to come meet you there.
3) We plan on doing a multi-media advertisement. Church sign, posters, Shopper News, and Carmi Times. (I will use my column in the banner to make an advertisement as well, but that will be free.) If you would like your church's name on the list of sponsors I would ask for a small donation to help pay for that advertisement. Whatever you all could do is fine! As of right now the advertisements will be roughly $700-$800.
Pastor my passion for seeing the churches of this area come together in any possible has never waned. I see it as my personal Nehemiah Mission. I think this event and those of the likes could be the start. Clay, my husband, is teaching on this very idea in SS right now. It is catching fire!!
Thank you for your consideration! I hope to hear from you soon - either way!! Have an awesome day!!
Feel free to call with any questions - 618*383*4856

Letter to Pastor
Dear Pastor
My name is Garth, I got your email from your church site, and I feel God gave me an idea to present to you to bring this nation back to him. If churches, have prayer services one or two nights for the rest of the year to be a witness unto the people that are not Christians, and invite them to church, where each Christian comes up front of the congregation, and pray for this nation to come back to God, and pray in groups. Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. I feel God is calling Christians to pray, come back to him, and stand up for Jesus, because these are the end times, and Jesus is coming soon. Also pastors and churches need to preach about Repentance, Salvation, Sin, Holy Spirit, Hell, and the cross of Christ Jesus, and not just preaching what people want to hear. Our nation right now is just like the Israelites when they fell away from God.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
United States & European Union Announce New World Order on Lou Dobbs. Lisbon Treaty gets passed, and New Permanent President of EU starts Jan. 2010.
I believe that God is also allowing the economic collapse and Natural Disasters in this nation to get peoples attention. If we as a nation do not heed to God’s word now, God will allow it to get worse. People are not listening to what God is trying to say. Like in says in Matthew 25:42-45 42. For I was hungered; and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43. I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45. Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. Proverbs 21:13. Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. Proverbs 28:27. He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. The church has gotten away from its responsibility in helping the people that need help. Too many churches are conforming to the world in what they preach, because they want to make people happy, but not preach the truth. Churches should not just help their own members, but God commanded that we help and love everyone. What if Jesus called your church, and had needs, would you turn him away? When a person needs help and you turn them away, God won’t help them in their time of need. God commanded us to help those in need. Remember, God will give back when you give from your heart. God has taken his hand off a lot of churches, because they stopped helping the poor. I feel God wants me to reach out churches in the United States to show God’s love, and that I care about this nation. Matthew 9:11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? 12. But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. The Church needs to send members into neighborhoods to reach the lost; as Jesus commanded.1 Corinthians 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. I feel led to suggest to you to show the movie Fireproof with Kirk Cameron about marriage at church; as I guarantee it will help so many marriages. I feel now is a good time, and it could help many families stay together.
Thank you for your time, and I look foreword to hearing from you soon.
Garth
